On a bright, sunny morning in San Luis Obispo, the AV SLO team fired up the griddles for our annual Sourdough Pancake Breakfast—and what a turnout! By the end of the morning, we had served an estimated 1,000 pancakes to the local community who took time to bike, scooter, walk, and pop in to say hello!
From classic sourdough stacks to chocolate chip, gluten-free, and vegan options, we made sure there was something for everyone. Fresh fruit, real maple syrup, and whipped cream topped it all off—and yes, we sliced five flats of strawberries in just one hour thanks to a genius slicer gadget (never going back).
Our team started setting up at 5 a.m., and the energy didn’t let up all morning. Truitt’s special sourdough recipe was a hit (ask him for it!), and our syrup station crew filled nearly 400 containers for grab-and-go bikers. As we mingled with guests and asked them about their favorite part of the event, one theme was clear—spoiler: it was mostly the pancakes.
This year was extra special because we got to use our brand new outdoor patio space with plenty of room to spread out and soak up the beautiful day!
It’s always a joy to open our doors and welcome the SLO community in. Thanks to everyone who showed up, pitched in, or just stopped by for a bite—we’re already dreaming of next year’s breakfast.
