Templeton Wine Country Residence
Project Stats
Our structural engineering team provided the complete design, plans, and calculations for this luxury compound. Designed to maximize panoramic views across the property, the ambitious estate centers around a 10,000-square-foot main residence and spans a diverse collection of custom structures, including a detached garage, workshop, standalone gym, and a covered loggia for high-end outdoor living.
To bring this expansive architectural vision to life, we integrated specialized structural systems tailored to each unique building on the property. We utilized Type V wood framing paired with hidden steel moment frames to achieve soaring ceilings and continuous walls of glass in the main home. For the modern gym, our team designed robust concrete retaining walls paired with a steel-and-concrete roof deck, while the outdoor loggia features custom stick-framing with exposed heavy timber trusses and a stone-clad fireplace. Navigating the natural topography, we engineered custom site retaining walls up to 8 feet in height, safely supporting the compound’s footprint and carving the sprawling estate seamlessly into the surrounding hillside landscape.
