San Francisco Concrete Building Screening:
Expert Ordinance 70-25 Compliance

Is your building compliant with San Francisco’s latest seismic safety mandate?

If you own a concrete or “tilt-up” building in San Francisco, Ordinance No. 70-25 requires you to submit a technical screening form by June 9, 2027. While owners can provide basic data, the City requires a California-licensed civil or structural engineer to verify the structural design and ASCE 41 building type.

Ashley & Vance Engineering provides the licensed verification and technical expertise you need to secure your Notice of Compliance.

Why You Need a Licensed Engineer.

The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection (DBI) requires an engineer to definitively identify your building’s composition to determine its earthquake risk. Our team in the Ashley & Vance Engineering Oakland Office handles the technical requirements, including:

  • ASCE 41 Classification: Categorizing your structure (e.g., C1, C2, or PC1)
  • Load-Path Verification: Confirming if concrete columns or walls support gravity loads
  • System Identification: Evaluating reinforced concrete diaphragms and lateral-force-resisting systems

The Risk of Inaction: Owners who miss the deadline will be potentially considered for future retrofit programs.
