An annual tradition since 2019, Bree Smead and Emily Orlando (two rock stars from our AV SLO Office) took time to give blood together in honor of the Memorial Day holiday. With close ties to friends and family who have needed blood donations, they have been passionate about contributing this precious resource for a long time and enjoy giving back whenever they can. In fact, this was Bree’s 37th blood donation and Emily’s 25th—together, they have donated over 60 pints of blood!
Although they each donate separately a few times a year, Bree and Emily have been donating together about once a year when their schedules align. Every visit to the donation center takes careful planning to ensure they get enough calories, iron, and rest around donation day. Some may think that sounds a little inconvenient, but it would take way more than that to dampen their enthusiasm for this worthy cause! Fresh off this donation, these two are already looking forward to the next time they can help someone in need.
