Jason Gotsis, P.E.
Jason has been practicing civil engineering for over 20 years. As a long time Santa Barbara local he has worked on various projects on the South Coast as well as Los Angeles County. Following graduation from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Jason worked for Foster Wheeler Corporation in their Clinton, New Jersey office. He prepared civil and site improvement designs and plans for facilities serving the power, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Some of his projects included grading and drainage design for international clients such as Amerada Hess, Shell Oil, and Merck Pharmaceuticals — both in the United States and overseas. During his time at Foster Wheeler, Jason earned his Master's in Business Administration to complement his undergraduate degree in civil engineering. Jason is familiar with the entitlements and permitting process for large and small projects on the Central Coast and Southern California. Recently, he worked on high-profile projects in the education, hospitality, and healthcare industries as well as on high-end single family residences. Through these projects he has developed expertise in grading, drainage, and site utility improvement design including meeting federally mandated requirements such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and interpreting the impacts from FEMA's Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). During the construction phase of a project he is experienced in coordinating with contractors to clarify design interpretations and providing solutions to unforeseen conditions in a timely manner.
