Now Offering: Forensic Engineering

Office News, Specialization

At Ashley & Vance, we’ve always been in the business of problem-solving. From complex seismic retrofits to intricate site grading, our team thrives on finding creative solutions for the built environment. When a building or site has a defect or failure, we have years of experience uncovering what may have gone wrong.

Because we’re always looking for better ways to support our clients, we are thrilled to announce that we are now offering Forensic Engineering as a specialized service.

While our core mission has always been about designing for the future, we’ve formally expanded our capabilities to include a dedicated focus on engineering “detective work.” Whether it’s a foundation shift, a persistent building envelope leak, or a complex construction defect, we’ve brought on specialized leadership to help our clients get to the bottom of it with rigorous analysis. Our team is also ready to provide thorough documentation and expert witness testimony to legal cases as well as repair recommendations to restore the safety and performance to a site or structure.

Our Forensic Engineering services include:

  • Forensic Investigations: Comprehensive diagnosis of building damage, distress, and construction defects across the envelope, structure, and site.

  • Systems & Building Failure: In-depth analysis of total building system collapses, envelope breaches, or civil infrastructure malfunctions.

  • Damage & Risk Assessment: Detailed evaluations to provide an analysis of the extent of damage to evaluate future risk.

  • Repair & Remediation: Development of repair plans and analysis of necessary, but reasonable corrective actions.

  • Litigation & Expert Witness Services: Professional expert witness testimony services for deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial .

  • Evaluation of the Standard of Care for design and construction professionals.

We’re excited to add this new field to our core offerings. To learn more about our services or where we’re licensed, visit our Forensic Engineering page or give us a shout.
