Mammoth Lakes Custom Home

Project

After featuring this project on the blog just after our team’s visit to the site in fall, we got our hands on more photos which show off the stunning scenery and construction stages of this single family residence. This ski-in ski-out custom home near Chair 15 at Mammoth Mountain ski area moved along fast! Our AVE team was impressed by the hardworking crew with Preschutti Construction, Inc. as the record 2016/2017 winter came and went, with snow piled up to 29 feet on the property. After over 200 loads of snow were hauled away in gravel trucks in late spring, the crews kept right on working and the project was dried in by the following winter.

Jordan Denio, in our Reno office did the structural engineering for this home, designed by Woodward Architecture, which features a 12-inch thick concrete deck elevated 14-feet over the garage, 17-foot tall retaining walls, and steel bent frames shaped to conform to the sloping roof and eliminate interior columns. The entire structure was framed to accommodate the stylistic feature of a full facade of logs on the exterior. The logs are installed after the rough framing is complete, to make the building look like a traditional log home.

We hope this incredible mountain abode will treat our client well amongst the trees!
