Fir Island Restoration Project

Fir Island, Skagit County, WA

Project Stats

The 245 acre reserve’s natural tidal exchange has been cut off by construction of historic dikes.  The project reclaims approximately 127 acres of tidal marsh land and restores the tidal process to the site by relocating the dike further inland.

Ashley & Vance has provided temporary de-watering plans that included sheet pile wall designs, and gravity wall designs to facility the construction of pump stations, access roads, culverts, and tide gates.
