The first Kompogas (subsidiary of HZI) plant in the United States utilizes new methods of recycling and processing organic waste from the county’s residential collection program. Organic waste is shredded, cleaned, and “digested.” The resulting biogas is utilized in an on-site unit to produce renewable, clean energy in the form of electricity that is exported to the utility power grid.
