New 18,000 sq. ft. single family residence with 1,200 sq. ft. of deck and a 2,700 sq. ft. tuck-under garage Provided structural engineering services for this expansive residence in the mountains. The structure utilized Type V framing with plywood shearwalls, and moment resisting frames. Special attention went in to the exterior roofs and eaves that are supported by exposed log framing as defned by the aesthetic scheme of the “log cabin” design. The property also features a garage that is an elevated cast in place deck supported by concrete walls, beams, and columns. The site required retaining walls up to 15 feet in height.
