Pescadero Lofts

Provided civil engineering services including pavement layout, grading and drainage, site utility layout, and stormwater management design for site of a new affordable housing complex through the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara (HACSB). Coordination efforts involved the County of Santa Barbara, Project Clean Water, and the Goleta Water District. Our team also completed the structural engineering portion for the new 21,000 sq. ft. three-story apartment building. The upper two floors contain majority of the 33 residential units while the lower floor includes meeting and community spaces. This serves the community’s formerly homeless population providing a permanent housing option in the Isla Vista area. Construction included: > 33 affordable housing units > 21,000 square foot building > Parapets with a flat, wood-framed roof > Increased impermeable areas for stormwater design Features: > Cantilevered balconies and overhangs > Stormwater coordination with multiple jurisdictions
