Welcome Bruce Jones!

Office News

Ashley & Vance is thrilled to welcome Bruce Jones, P.E., to the firm!  Our Santa Barbara team was so thrilled, in fact, that they gathered together to cook up some ribs in his honor.

In addition to the good shared meat, they also found out that Bruce was born and raised in Santa Ynez, attended college at Cal Poly, SLO, spent the last few years working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Santa Cruz, CA, Riverton, WY, and Fort Collins, CO, and most recently owned his own firm in Rutland, VT.

Bruce has worked on public school improvement projects, as well as public and private sector infrastructure.  His project experience includes survey and design for multiple resource conservation districts in California, planning and design for wastewater and water treatment facilities, financial and regulatory planning services from a civil engineering capital perspective, and preparation of full construction documents.  Bruce is highly efficient with civil engineering software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, and has provided Civil 3D training seminars for other design professionals in the industry.

Coming from a construction family and growing up learning carpentry and roofing, Bruce has remodeled several homes and is competent in most construction disciplines.  In his free time, he can often be found biking, hiking, and paddle boarding.  He’s even gone so far as competing in adventure races that combine mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, rock climbing, and navigation over a span of anywhere from 3 to 30 hours.  And to round out his interests, Bruce also indulges in some more eclectic pastimes, including cooking international cuisine, writing science fiction, and coding custom computer games.
From his engineering skills, to his construction background, to his myriad of interests, we’re quite confident that Bruce will be a great addition to the team!
